Microsoft Reportedly Plans to Release New Browser Spartan With Windows 10

Microsoft's new browser with the codename
Spartan will reportedly be featured at
Microsoft's Windows 10 press event on Jan.
21.

The new browser will reportedly use
Windows 10 but it is not yet confirmed if
Spartan will be fully operational when the
new operating system is released. Microsoft
Student Partner Thomas Nigro posted on
Twitter that the company is creating a new
browser.

Nigro tweeted: "Ok so Microsoft is about to
launch a new browser that's not Internet
Explorer and will be the default browser in
Windows 10. Wow."

Sources said that Spartan will still use
Microsoft's Chakra JavaScript engine and
Microsoft's Trident rendering engine. The
browser will be both available for PC and
mobile use.

Spartan is not Internet Explorer 12 as people
previously speculated. It is an all new web
browser that is similar to Chrome and
Firefox, which will be its competitors.

It is not yet known if Sparta will completely
replace Internet Explorer as Microsoft's
browser. In Reddit's Ask Me Anything,
Microsoft previously revealed that they are
thinking about changing IE's name due to the
negative complaints it has been receiving.

"It's (rebranding's) been suggested internally;
I remember a particularly long email thread
where numerous people were passionately
debating it. Plenty of ideas get kicked around
about how we can separate ourselves from
negative perceptions that no longer reflect
our product today," a Microsoft
representative answered.

Lack of security is one of the negative
perceptions about IE. The browser has
improved a lot nowadays but its reputation
has not changed. IE is also behind its
competitors since it does not have
extensions, according to Trusted Reviews.

Extensions are available for Google Chrome
and Mozilla Firefox. This feature allows users
to save, share and view web contents with
each other. It can also be a way to
communicate with other Internet users.
As of this time, Microsoft has not revealed
the official release date of Sparta but rumors
say that it will be at the Microsoft Internet
Explorer's 20th anniversary on August 2015.

This is a very great news for Microsoft users.
